The Color of Freedom
From the Author
I believe the best way to teach history to children is to make it come alive. This book was born of a family vacation to Lexington, Concord and Boston. I hope it helps those unable to visit these historical sites to better imagine and understand the start of the American Revolution.
As a teacher, I like to make materials available to compliment my books in the classroom. For free downloadable materials, visit www(dot)michelleisenhoff(dot)com.
About the Author
I became a teacher because I never outgrew children's literature. Then I tried my hand one - I was hooked! When I'm not teaching, writing, chauffeuring children, blogging or reading, I like gardening and taking road trips with my family (not necessarily at the same time).
So what do I write? Three words: ADVENTURE - I won't read a story that doesn't transport me to a new, exciting world. I won't write one, either. INNOCENCE - My target audiences range from 9 to 15. Kids. I won't market profanity or controversy. And SUBSTANCE - I prefer stories with some depth to them.
Though I write material appropriate for younger readers, many a grown-up has applauded my work and asked, "Why is this just for kids?"
